Message from the President Carolyn Lewis

HAPPY  THANKSGIVING! 

It seems impossible that November is upon us, and I know this time of year is often one of reflection for all the good things to be thankful for in one's life.  I know I am thankful for the great friendships I have in PBGN, and the enjoyment of our camaraderie on the course! A rough week of work is often quickly forgotten by a Saturday morning of golf and great laughs with my PBGN buddies.

Tee Off Reception Nov 17  Our tee-off reception chairperson has another great event planned at Lupe Tortilla's.  Voting for the 2010 executive board will take place and 2009 Match Play Champion will be announced and honored.  Tee-Off receptions are a great evening out during the busy work week. 

November Playdays Saturday November 14th a great playday is planned at Cypress Lakes GC. The second playday for November is on Sunday November 22nd at Atascocita Golf Club.  Both are great courses for some enjoyable golf.

Wishing all of you a great November and make some time to count your blessings in life as the holiday season begins.
 
Match Play Handicap for 2009

We will be using the Ghin Course Handicap Calculator to determine what handicaps will be utilized for the courses you will be playing your matches.

1. You or your opponent or both may go online to the Ghin site.

2. Look for the Course Handicap Calculator.

3. You will need to enter your current handicap index and the slope of the course you will be playing to determine your handicap for that said course. (you can find most slopes by entering a golf course name in the system)

4. The player with the lowest handicap will be the one to give strokes to their opponent.

5. The number of strokes to be given will be the difference between the high and low handicaps from the calculator.

6. You should print this information and bring it to the course with you for verification. NO FIGHTING!!!!
 
League Play

League play is over for 2009.

League play for 2009 has ended when the time change took place.  Next year there is a possibility of having league play on 2 nights of the week at 2 different golf courses.  Hopefully this addition will allow more girls to play an extra round of golf during the week.  More details in spring, 2010.
